The base exerts sufficient energy to accelerate the Neon gas molecules enclosed between the double layer of glass of the containers when placed on the base. It can be used with the coaster of the room itself and taken to the table as a show.

If you do not use your base it is best to turn it off, this will extend the life of the batteries.
